Lion of Judah
What started out as painting a black and white lion, for the sake of painting it, quickly became so much more. As I was painting, it was impressed upon me to do a series and to add a touch of color to each one. Using a specific color or colors to represent an attribute of Jesus’ character. The expressions took on a form of their own as I painted and yielded to Holy Spirit during the process.
Holy Beacon of Hope
Just as Jesus fixed His eyes upon the Father, we too are called to “fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith”. Heb. 12:2
In Him we find peace, comfort, gentleness, kindness and hope.
Watchful King
Green is often associated with jealousy as a negative connotation, however with God it is rooted in His desire for relationship with us; His creation. His characteristic as a “jealous” God, (Ex. 34:14), as well as our guide, protector and provider (Ps 121:8) is a reflection of His commitment to us and the importance of our loyalty to Him.
Unbridled Passion
The fiery passion of His unrelentingly pursuit. A tear of sorrow, grief and anguish when mocked, despised and rejected. A tear of joy when welcoming a son or daughter into His kingdom as He’s accepted into their hearts as Lord and Savior. A grain of wheat, imbedded as a scar symbolizing His unwavering faithful love, provision, abundance and blessing. And the cross, to remind us of the ultimate sacrifice He paid; taking on our sin, that we may be cleansed; baring the stripes for our healing and the brokenness He endured that we may be made whole through Him. There is no greater passion!
Royal Circle of Grace
Father, Son, Holy Spirit. Life, death, resurrection. All sufficient grace.
